Whatsapp Postpones New Privacy Terms Amid Backlash [Latest]

Whatsapp Postpones New Privacy Terms

Everyone knows there is an ongoing backlash due to WhatsApp’s privacy policies. The backlash was not only from the USA, but it was also received from several other countries like India, Africa, the UK, and many more.

Some countries are also thinking of banning the apps connected to Facebook too and because of this WhatsApp has taken their decision back, yes! you heard that right! The company faced several backlashes from all over the world and was under unbearable pressure.

Because of all this, all of a sudden WhatsApp shared this tweet and let people know that they are not deleting any accounts and neither are they going anywhere.

Thank you to everyone who’s reached out. We’re still working to counter any confusion by communicating directly with @WhatsApp users. No one will have their account suspended or deleted on Feb 8 and we’ll be moving back our business plans until after May

WhatsApp also noticed that people are heading towards other chatting platforms like Telegram and Signal. Telegram also reported that 25 million new users joined them within 72 hours when WhatsApp stated their new policies.

With this “signal”, WhatsApp understood that they need to reconsider their decision so they tweeted the above lines, and now users have officially more time now to carefully understand whether to leave WhatsApp or not! You can read the guidelines and new privacy policies on the notification that WhatsApp is showing to each and every user!

WhatsApp already collects sufficient data about you and have already shared it to Facebook so that they can show relevant ads to people and earn much more revenue than ever before.

This move came after the Apple and Facebook ads controversy where Apple is not allowing Facebook to read its users database due to privacy, and not because it is a concern but because it is a privacy concern for Apple users too.

It is totally up to you whether you need to use WhatsApp or not, but remember WhatsApp is the best messaging app still, so yes we at ApkWhale will be continuing to use it throughout as all messages are encrypted and WhatsApp has no access to them, but your IP address, IMEI, name, and other stuff is visible to WhatsApp.
